Paris Deco Off 2022

Inspired by the iconic pieces of the Ecart International collection, the artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet reinterprets two great classics of the publishing house, in his colorful and vibrant language.

On the occasion of Paris Déco Off 2022, Jean Michel Frank’s straight-backed armchair and Pierre Chareau’s Curule stool become new territories of expression for the artist.

The dialogue continues at the gallery 18 rue Jacob, where the artist has created a screen that stages several key pieces from the collections, in his chromatic universe that plays with the codes of the interior, architecture and design.

“I like the idea of bringing a new reading of the everyday through color.

“I am always the first to be amazed by the power of color. The curule stool, an iconic object by Pierre Chareau that I am particularly fond of, tells a new story.”
